Mohammad Ajmal Kasab’s execution came both as a shock and relief to most of the Indians. The long awaited execution was finally serviced on the morning of 21st Nov 2012 in Yerawada jail, Pune. This came just 5 days prior to the 4th anniversary of the massacre created by Ajmal and his team. He was the lone survivor of his entire team.

All the details of what Ajmal Kasab did and how the judiciary took its course of law can be found all over the different media, and that won't be discussed here!

The point what I’m trying to assert here that after so many years and after so many diverse incidents we are still the same in terms of security. Our coasts remain perforated and security protocol all over the airports in substandard. Remember the incident in the recent past, where in one Indigo flight passenger threatened to blow off the aircraft. The case was handled with absolute chaos. No one from the airline staff to the airport security was prepared to handle the situation, leave alone talking about air-marshals.

Ajmal Kasab was merely a pawn in the entire mayhem staged on 26/11. The real masterminds are still at large, roaming about freely and maybe smirking at India’s self touted happiness of taking revenge of 26/11 by hanging Kasab.

India should do more to bring justice to the victims of 26/11 not by simply hanging Kasab, but also tracking down and dealing with the real mastermind “Hafiz Muhammad Saeed”.
